Abraham Garrison Demarest - Colonel |
Commissioned as Major on September 9, 1862. Served as second in command through the December 1862 Fredericksburg Campaign. Promoted to Colonel and led the unit in the May 1863 Battle of Chancellorsville, and through to their muster out of service on June 25, 1862. He is buried in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, New Jersey. (November 18, 1830 (b) October 12, 1900 (d).
